How long has the club been around?

The Methacton Electric Car Club was established in 2001, a total of 8 years to date.

How many members are in the club?

There are currently 20 members in the Methacton Electric Car Club, but new members are always welcome.

What is the mission of the Methacton Electric Car Club?

To explore alternative energy resources one car at a time, and to provide hands-on learning about alternative power sources for science, engineering and trade students as well as the regional public.

What are the goals of the Methacton Electric Car Club?

• Make improvements and upgrade our competition/demonstration vehicle.
• Identify sponsors to help us compete in the Tour De Sol Electric Car Championship.
• Promote the exploration of alternative power and the advancement of American engineering, design and manufacturing.

How do you help the comunity?

We try our best to educate the community about alternative, sustained forms of energy. We do this by holding demonstrations and letting people experience the Lorax firsthand.

Where do you get funding from?

Most of the club's funding comes from our generous community sponsors. Also, we occasionally hold fundraisers for a bit of extra cash on the side.
