Interested in joining the Methacton Electric Car Club? Here’s how you can help.
For High School Students
As a MECC member at Methacton High School, you’d have the opportunity to work hands-on with a variety of hand and power tools to convert vehicles to run on electric power. As you work, you’ll learn from the teachers and senior members about how to correctly use the tools, how the systems of the car work, and how to face problems when they arise.
You’ll also have the opportunity to help organize and lead events to educate the community about renewable energy and electric cars. We often work with young children, teaching them early what it means to use sustainable practices. Fundraising events are vital as well, and we need members to help create, organize, and advertise them.
If none of those roles sounds appealing to you, but you are interested in the club and its goal, consider helping with website development, or artistic design (this logo didn’t design itself!). We’ll take all the help we can get, so if you have more ideas of ways you can work with us, we’d be happy to have you as a team member!
Email Mr. Savitz, our club sponsor, at email@example.com if you are interested in joining. We hope to see you soon!
For the Community
The club members may be making change through the work on the vehicles and educating the public one car at a time, but none of that would be possible without community support. Please consider donating to the Methacton Electric Car Club to allow us to keep innovating, educating, and competing. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
Also, if you have any knowledge/parts/supplies that may help us, please reach out! One of our sponsors, John Murphy, donated the original body of the Lorax (below) in 2001 and it has been invaluable in our efforts. We would be grateful for any way in which you could help us.
Email Mr. Savitz, our club sponsor, at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in supporting us. Thank you so much!
