The club’s newest project is our conversion of a 1970s Triumph Spitfire to 100% electric vehicle. The vehicle was based on a design produced for Standard-Triumph in 1947 by Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti
The conversion involves the placement of 12 electric batteries in various compartments of the vehicle, such as under the hood, in the truck, and behind the passenger seats. Additionally, the students had to determine where to position the controller, transmission, and computer to allow the car to operate efficiently.
